Charity: British Deaf
Association
Robin Shill and Jabulani Mhlanga are both running to raise funds
and awareness for the British Deaf Association. Deafness is an
issue that is close to both Robin and Jabulani and they want to
help raise awareness for the BDA so they can continue their
excellent work.
Robin: "My mum is deaf and it was only recently that our family
learnt British Sign Language, we didn't know the difference it
would make to our daily life then but knowing what we do now,
we'd have learnt it a lot sooner. Communication on a daily basis
is vastly improved and my mum is a much more confident person,
I'm so proud of her. She is now part of the local Deaf community
and has lots more friends. The BDA aims to promote the use of
British Sign Language and I just want to help out."

If you are unable to donate financially, don't worry - your
contribution is still invaluable. Organisations like the BDA
need awareness so that more people get interested in deafness
and sign language, that in turn can lead to an increased revenue
for the charity through people signing up to sign language
courses and making donations to the charity. If you join us on
Facebook and invite your friends to join, you're helping to
secure the future of the BDA.
