3 City Challenge 2010 - An 82 Mile Ultra Marathon!

The first ever 3 City Challenge will take place on Saturday 28th August at 5pm. The route is 82 miles long, starting at the Clock Tower, Leicester and finishing at the Walkers Stadium, Leicester. The route loops from Leicester to Birmingham to Coventry and back to Leicester.

This ultra marathon is a first ever because it is a creation of Robin Shill. There will only be 2 entrants, Robin Shill and his training buddy, Jabulani Mhlanga. There isn't the support of an organised marathon and this will be the first marathon that either Robin or Jabulani will run. They started training in April, and with no previous marathon running experience it remains to be seen whether they can complete the 82 mile long route alive!

82 Challenges for 82 Miles
If taking part in an 82 mile ultra marathon wasn't a big enough challenge, Robin will be setting himself 82 mini challenges on route. Check out the 82 Challenges page for more information on what the challenges are.

Why?!
Both Robin and Jabulani have deafness in the family and many deaf friends. Organisations such as the British Deaf Association perform invaluable work that oftens goes without notice. They are aiming to gain some publicity for the British Deaf Association to help them continue their brilliant work. If you are able to donate financially, please go to our Just Giving page - if not, sharing the word about the BDA and their work is equally as important so if you can join our Facebook group and invite your friends that would be greatly appreciated!
